Traditional Stucco
Stucco has been protecting and beautifying buildings for centuries — and for good reason. A cement-based blend of Portland cement, lime, sand, and water, modern stucco incorporates polymers and advanced additives that give it increased flexibility, impact resistance, and longevity. Most stucco systems carry warranties of up to 20 years, and a properly maintained stucco exterior can last well over 50.
Stucco is one of the most versatile exterior finishes available. It can be applied over virtually any substrate — wood framing, brick, concrete block, and more — and it accepts virtually any texture or color finish, giving your home a custom, high-end appearance that’s uniquely yours.

The three stucco systems we install:
One-Coat System — A single application blend of Portland cement, sand, fibers, and chemical agents applied over rigid foam board or metal lath. Efficient, durable, and an excellent choice for new construction.
Two-Coat System — A traditional stucco mix applied in two coats over concrete, brick, or block walls using a bonding adhesive rather than metal lath. Ideal for masonry substrates.
Three-Coat System — The most comprehensive system, beginning with a waterproofing underlayment, followed by furred metal lath, a base stucco coat, and a final finish coat that creates the desired texture and color. This is the gold standard for longevity and moisture protection.
EIFS — Exterior Insulation and Finish System
Also known as synthetic stucco, EIFS is a multi-layer exterior cladding system originally developed to resurface war-damaged masonry buildings in Europe. Introduced to the United States in 1969, it quickly became a preferred choice for architects and builders seeking a high-performance, energy-efficient exterior solution for both commercial and residential construction.
Where traditional stucco is cement-based, EIFS is a polymer-based system that wraps your home in a continuous thermal envelope — delivering superior insulation, a more uniform finished appearance, and greater flexibility than traditional stucco, making it significantly more resistant to cracking.
The four layers of an EIFS system:
- Expanded polystyrene foam insulation board — Adhered or mechanically fastened to the substrate, creating the thermal core of the system
- Polymer-cement base coat — Troweled over the insulation board to create a solid, weather-resistant foundation
- Fiberglass reinforcing mesh — Embedded in the base coat for structural integrity and crack resistance
- 100% acrylic color-integral finish coat — The final layer, providing color, texture, and a rich, polished appearance

One important note: EIFS is not a breathable material, which means proper installation is everything. All flashings around windows, doors, and penetrations must be correctly sealed to prevent water intrusion.
