I didn’t start in construction. For over 25 years, I built my career in enterprise technology and global business — working my way from Account Manager to SVP of Global Sales and CEO, leading high-performing teams and delivering complex solutions to some of the most recognized brands in the world. I learned what exceptional client service looks like, what accountability means at scale, and what separates companies that people trust from the ones they simply tolerate.
Then in 2018, I went through my own contractor experience as a homeowner — and what I saw changed everything.
Why I Started Affluent Contractors
Like most homeowners, I hired a contractor expecting professionalism, transparency, and quality. What I got was the opposite. Poor communication, missed deadlines, vague estimates, and work that didn’t meet the standard I was promised. It was frustrating — but more than that, it was eye-opening.
I looked at the residential and commercial contracting industry and saw a glaring gap: the level of professionalism, technology, and client-first thinking that’s standard in the business world was almost absent. Homeowners were being underserved, and nobody seemed to be doing anything about it.
So I did.
